Accuracy and attention to detail...

At Vintage Brass Plates we understand the importance of accuracy and our attention to detail ensures that every plate is just like the original

We take time to ensure that all the lettering, logos, and the layout are correct so that the new plate looks just right. All the information and images on every plate are recreated from scratch to produce the artwork. Logos are carefully re-drawn and often the style of lettering has to be recreated to ensure that the detail is correct. The artwork is also sent to the customer for approval before making the actual plates

As well as using the same methods to make the plates, we also use the same type and thickness of metal as was used for the originals. Most plates were originally made from either brass or aluminium. However some plates were made from brass which was then nickel plated to create silver coloured lettering. Over the years, the nickel wears off to reveal the brass underneath and the nickel is only visible where it has been protected. At Vintage Brass Plates we can produce plates from solid nickel silver sheet which looks the same as the nickel plated originals.

We take great care over our manufacturing process so that every new plate not only looks authentic, but also feels just like the original.

Choice of finish...

All our plates are finished with a black background. Brass plates can also be supplied polished or given an antique finish. The old look plates are more inkeeping with machines in original condition, but also look good on those restored to concourse standards.
